- Everything must be connected-(extremely important) don't start inventing random things at the end of the story, give them some reference to the thing earlier on in the book.
- Never let your reader have a reason to say, "What are the chances of that happening?" unless, of course, it is required for the effect.
- Improve your vocabulary-this way, no one has the right to say that your book is a simple beginners book, unless that is exactly what it is.
- Is your work creative? How many other writers would write about something like that?
- And most of all, make sure you are completely sure about how a person/animal would react to a situation, so that your readers could relate to your work and to make the story more realistic.
